Travel Stipends for Early Career Researchers

Travel Stipends

We are pleased to announce that a limited number of travel stipends for early career researchers will be available for ISINIP2026.
Please note that our financial resources are limited, and we are unfortunately unable to provide full support to all applicants.
Each stipend will provide up to 150,000 JPY to support travel expenses.

Eligibility – Definition of Early Career Researchers

Applicants must fall into one of the following categories:

  • Master’s student
  • PhD researcher
  • Postdoctoral researcher (within 4 years of obtaining a PhD)

Application Procedure

Applicants for a travel stipend must submit the following documents as a single PDF file to the ISINIP Office by e-mail by 20 April, 2026.

  1. Motivation letter describing the interest in participating in ISINIP2026 and the need for travel support
    (maximum 1 page)
  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    (maximum 1 page)
  3. Abstract submitted to ISINIP2026
  4. Proof of early career researcher status
    (e.g. student enrollment certificate, employment certificate, etc.)

Selection Criteria

  • Priority will be given to high-quality applications, based on the motivation letter, CV, and abstract.
  • Priority may be given to applicants from countries of the Global South.
  • Please note that applicants from well-funded research groups may not be selected, even if their applications are of high quality.
  • The selection results will be communicated to applicants by e-mail by 10 May, 2026.

Conditions for Travel Stipend Recipients

  • Recipients must register for ISINIP2026 and pay the registration fee in advance.
  • The travel stipend (up to 150,000 JPY) will be reimbursed at the on-site registration desk during the conference.
  • All stipend recipients must present their work at the conference, either as an oral presentation or a poster.
